Whats The Right Age to Start Preschool

A neighbor's child started preschool when he was two years old, while another friend insisted that he study at home for up to four years. Most of new parents are very confused about the appropriate age to enroll children in the daycare system. Although most kindergartens accept children as young as three years old, the growing number accept children as young as 1.5-2 years old. The decision to enroll children in a play school is determined by a number of factors such as the mother's need to return to work. But the most important thing should be the child's well-being.

The right time

Many schools use the following chronological year as an indicator of school readiness and acceptance. However, it is very important to ensure that the child has the following skills before starting pre-kindergarten.

• Children should be trained to go to the toilet and be able to communicate with an adult when they need to go to the toilet.

• You can wear it without shirt buttons and shoelaces.

• Ability to remain silent for a short period of time.

• Ready to spend time away from parents / caregivers.

• Be able to communicate needs and listen to others.

• It should be weaned from the feed bottle a few months before starting newborn care and education (ECCE).

Good school kindergarten benches

When selecting pre-school exams for their children, parents should note the following boxes:

Security.

Check the school for physical, emotional and sexual safety of your child. Physical safety includes the cleanliness and hygiene of study areas, toilets, and play areas. Some schools often invest in low-cost plastic toys and potentially dangerous items.

Emotional security includes interactions between children and teachers and how these respond to challenging behaviors, anxiety disorders and delays and deviations from learning. The advanced kindergarten system does not stress and does not force early education and children who are allowed to make mistakes and learn at their own pace. When teachers use threats, bribery and punishment, it is not emotionally safe for children.

To ensure sexual safety, inspect the school for ‘dark areas’ that may be used by abusers and ask supervisors to check the strong background of all staff.

If there are any red flags on any of the three security benches, it is advisable to remove the school from your shortlist.

Infrastructure.

In addition to the educational infrastructure, parents should check that there is adequate lighting, fresh air, outdoor play areas including well-maintained sand pit and inspection activities.

If a pre school operates in an indoor environment with limited natural light or is “completely cool”, think twice before choosing this school. A good kindergarten school offers many opportunities to play indoors and out.

Pedagogy / Philosophy.

Every pedagogy for children's education at an early age has its unifying points. If you are determined to send your child to a school that follows the ECCE philosophy, spend time researching it. Other popular early childhood education philosophies include Junior Dps, Montessori, Reggio Emilia and Waldorf. Choose a primary that you believe will help your child achieve a meaningful and exciting ECCE.

Teacher / Staff Level.

An advanced kindergarten ensures that its teachers and staff are well-trained in one or more ECCE courses. Caring for and teaching young children requires special skills and training. Check with the parents of registered children to understand the quality of student-teacher interaction.

Assessment and Ethics.

The kindergarten curriculum needs to be age-appropriate without the pressure on children to learn. Assessment of learning outcomes should be a record of gradual progress beyond the achieved achievement level. In addition to testing, check to see if the school has a balanced policy on discipline. Teachers who use any form of punishment - threats, bribery or beatings may make your child reluctant to learn forever.

Illness and Emergencies.

Check that school administrators have developed procedures and policies for dealing with emergencies and illnesses. Well-known preschool schools often have a well-trained nurse or teacher to provide first aid.
